Mechanical error not cause of fatal crash of actor Paul Walker
After a four month
investigation The Los Angeles County Sheriff found that the cause of the fiery
crash that killed actor Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas was not
mechanical error. Investigators sought help from German carmaker Porsche and
French tire company Michelin in determining the cause of the crash. In a
statement from Mike Parker Los Angeles County Sheriff Commander stated that the
cause of the crash was excessive speed. Investigators determined that Roger
Rodas was driving the 2005 red Porsche
Carrera GT sports car at speeds of 80 to 93 miles per hour in an area where the
posted speed limit is 45 mph when he lost control of the car and crashed into
trees and a utility pole. There were no alcohol or drugs in either of the men's
bodies and both men were wearing seatbelts and the airbags had deployed.
