Toyota Recalls 247,000 Vehicles in the U.S.
In the United States 247,000 cars, Suvs and pickup trucks are being recalled by Toyota Motor Corp today.  According to U.S. safety regulators the reason for the recall is for a potential defect in the front passenger airbag inflators which can rupture and spray pieces of metal. The air bags are manufactured by Japan’s Takata Corp.
Toyota Moto Corp is not the only automobile manufacture to be affected by Takata’s faulty air bags, included in the regional recall are Honda Motor Co. and Chrysler Group. This recent regional recall for Toyota raises the number of vehicles affected by the faulty Takata air bags to more than 4.5 million since the beginning of the regional recall in June 2014.
After reports of explosions in airs bags in Florida and Puerto Rico the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration started an investigation.
