Ford Adds 156,000 More Vehicles to Recall

Today Ford Motor Company announce that they are expanding their recall for its Fiesta for doors that can fly open. The expansion comes after just a few days from the original recall of about 390,000 Fiestas, Lincoln MKZ's and Fusions.

This latest recall expansion includes 156,000 more vehicles bringing the number of vehicles recalled this week by Ford to around 1.1 million for five different problems. The original recall was for model years 2012 to 2014 the expansion now includes model year 2011.

This past Wednesday Ford issued four recalls for different issues one of which was for steering gear bolts that have the potential to corrode and crack and cause the vehicle to stall. This issue covers close to 600,000 vehicles among those are 91 of Ford's redesigned 2015 F-150 pickup.

In Detroit the CEO's of Ford and General Motors met with Mark Rosekind, the new head of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to discuss maters of safety.
