NHTSA Investigating 130,000 2008-2010 Nissan Versa's 

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration a preliminary evaluation has been opened for approximately 130,000 Nissan Versa's model years 2008-2010. This evaluation is to assess the scope, frequency and the safety related consequence of the alleged defect. This is the first step in determining if there is a defect that will lead to a vehicle recall.

Complaints from owners are fractures in the front suspension coil springs which could lead to tire punctures and or brake line damage while driving the vehicle. There have been 93 complaints, one crash and no deaths reported.
