Ford has started a customer satisfaction campaign to remedy problems with some of their late model vehicles. Ford owners have complained about a drop in engine power which is cause by the engine throttle body affecting approximately 1.6 million vehicles. Ford stated that customers can take their vehicle to the dealership to have the powertrain control module software reprogrammed to protect the throttle body, with the normal warranty extended to 10 years or 150,000 miles.

This campaign by Ford was enough to satisfy the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agency has closed a defect investigation into those models and the will not try to force a recall.
